Find your treatment
Important: when to seek help
- For sudden severe pain, blanching or white/dusky mottled skin, worsening colour changes, cold skin, or visual symptoms after filler: contact your practitioner immediately and seek emergency assessment. Sudden visual changes after facial filler are an emergency: call 999 / attend A&E.
- Call 999 for breathing difficulties, swelling of the tongue/throat, collapse, or other signs of severe allergic reaction.
- Contact the clinic promptly for increasing redness, heat, swelling, discharge, fever, severe or worsening pain, or any unexpected reaction. For urgent out-of-hours concerns use NHS 111; for emergencies call 999.
Anti-wrinkle injections (1–3 areas, full face and small areas)
- Mild redness, small bumps, tenderness or bruising at injection sites can occur and usually settle quickly.
- Avoid rubbing or massaging treated areas for 24 hours. Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and excessive heat for the rest of the day.
- Keep skin clean; avoid applying make-up until injection points have closed (ideally several hours).
- Effects often begin in 3–5 days, with the full effect typically assessed at around 14 days. Attend your agreed review if needed.
- Seek urgent medical advice for difficulty swallowing, speaking or breathing, or unusual widespread muscle weakness.
Nefertiti neck lift, masseter and hyperhidrosis injections
- Follow the anti-wrinkle injection guidance above; avoid rubbing the injection sites.
- For masseter treatment, temporary chewing fatigue or tenderness can occur. Seek advice for significant chewing weakness or asymmetry.
- For neck treatment, urgently report swallowing, speech or breathing problems.
- For underarm sweating treatment, avoid deodorant on irritated or broken skin immediately after treatment and avoid vigorous activity for the rest of the day. Results may take up to 2 weeks.
Dermal fillers (lips, cheeks, jaw, nose, folds and 8-point lift)
- Swelling, bruising, tenderness and temporary unevenness are common. Lips may swell more during the first 24–48 hours.
- Do not press, massage or manipulate the area unless specifically instructed. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol and excessive heat for 24–48 hours.
- Use a cool compress gently if advised; keep the area clean and avoid make-up until injection points have closed.
- Allow approximately 2 weeks for swelling to settle before judging the result; follow the individual review plan.
- IMPORTANT: Increasing or disproportionate pain, pale/grey/mottled skin, cool skin, or any vision change requires immediate emergency assessment. Nose filler has particular vascular risks.
Filler dissolving / hyaluronidase and patch testing
- Mild redness, swelling, bruising and tenderness can occur after a patch test or dissolving treatment.
- Avoid rubbing the area and strenuous exercise or heat for 24 hours. Follow the clinician’s advice about when filler can be reassessed or replaced.
- An allergic reaction is possible even after a negative patch test. Seek emergency help for breathing difficulty, throat swelling or collapse.
- Contact the clinic for worsening pain, spreading redness or unusual skin colour changes.
Skin boosters and polynucleotides
- Small raised injection bumps, swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising may occur; bumps usually settle over the next few days.
- Do not massage or pick injection points unless your clinician has specifically advised it. Avoid make-up until sites close, and avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, saunas and intense heat for 24–48 hours.
- Use gentle cleanser, moisturiser and daily SPF 50. Avoid strong exfoliating acids and retinoids for around 48 hours or until irritation has settled.
- Improvements are gradual and multiple sessions may be recommended. Your course schedule is individualised.
- Contact the clinic for worsening pain, marked swelling, heat, discharge or skin colour changes.
Fat dissolving injections (Aqualyx / Lemon Bottle)
- Swelling, tenderness, bruising and temporary firmness can occur; the duration varies by product and area.
- Avoid vigorous exercise, alcohol, saunas and excessive heat for 24–48 hours. Do not massage unless instructed for the exact product used.
- Follow the product-specific instructions given in clinic; not all fat-dissolving products have the same evidence, regulatory status or aftercare.
- Seek prompt assessment for severe or worsening pain, blistering, discolouration, spreading redness, fever or drainage.
Vitamin injections (B12, vitamin C, vitamin D and iron)
- You may experience temporary soreness, redness or bruising at the injection site. Keep the area clean and avoid rubbing it.
- Contact the clinic for persistent pain, redness, swelling or a rash. Seek emergency help for signs of anaphylaxis.
- Iron injections may cause lasting skin staining if medicine leaks into the tissue. Report burning, marked pain or staining immediately.
- Follow the specific medicine information and any blood-test or review plan given by your prescriber; different preparations require different monitoring.
Hydra facial
- Mild pinkness, tightness or sensitivity may occur and generally settles within a day.
- Use a gentle cleanser, moisturiser and SPF 50. Avoid exfoliating acids, scrubs and retinoids for 24–48 hours, or longer if your skin remains sensitive.
- Avoid saunas, very hot showers and strenuous exercise for the rest of the day. Do not pick or scrub the skin.
- Contact the clinic if you develop blistering, persistent burning or worsening redness.
Microneedling with exosomes
- Redness, warmth, tightness and mild swelling are common for 24–72 hours; pinpoint marks or flaking can occur.
- For the first 24 hours, use only the products advised by your practitioner, avoid make-up, touching the face unnecessarily, sweating and heat. Use clean pillowcases and hands.
- Once skin tolerates it, use gentle cleanser, bland moisturiser and SPF 50. Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs and active skincare for approximately 5–7 days or until fully recovered.
- Avoid swimming pools, saunas and intense exercise for 48 hours or until the skin barrier has recovered. Do not pick flaking skin.
- Exosome products vary in formulation and regulatory status; follow the specific product instructions. Seek advice for worsening redness, pus, fever or unusual rash.
Laser carbon facial
- Mild warmth, redness or sensitivity may occur. Use gentle skincare, moisturiser and SPF 50.
- Avoid retinoids, acids, exfoliation, saunas and excessive heat for 48–72 hours or until skin settles.
- Do not pick or scrub treated skin. Report blistering, burns, significant swelling or increasing pain.
Laser hair removal
- Redness and perifollicular bumps may occur for several hours to a couple of days. Cool gently if advised.
- Avoid hot baths, saunas, friction, perfumed products and vigorous exercise for 24–48 hours.
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning; use SPF 50 on exposed areas. Do not wax or pluck between sessions; shaving is usually acceptable once skin settles.
- Report blisters, burns, pigment changes or prolonged pain.
Laser tattoo / pigmentation removal
- Heat, swelling, crusting and sometimes blistering can occur. Keep the area clean, protected and covered as instructed by your laser practitioner.
- Do not pop blisters or pick scabs. Avoid friction, swimming, saunas, tanning and sun exposure until healed; use SPF 50 once skin is intact.
- Follow the dressing and wound-care instructions specific to your laser and treated area. Seek review for spreading redness, discharge, fever or increasing pain.
- Pigment changes and scarring are possible; healing and clearance take multiple weeks and sessions.
